The PYP 4 class kicked off their first unit of inquiry of the year with a fun and engaging provocation activity where they could share their prior knowledge of the body, body systems and the organs that make up these systems. They were given a blank outline of the human body and followed a three-step process. First, they used the key concept of form and drew in whatever organs and body parts they knew and labeled them to the best of their knowledge. Next, they wrote down what they think the function of each body part is. Finally, the students wrote some questions to guide further inquiry into the systems of the body as they delve deeper into the topic.
